Guidance

Welcome to the Guidance Department

The Bellows Free Academy's school counseling program provides a comprehensive
developmental program which promotes the academic, career, and personal/social
development of all students, PK - 12th grade.  In partnership with educators, parents,
and community resources, the program promotes the mission of all students becoming
informed, literate, critical thinkers who demonstrate responsible social and civic behaviors.

The Guidance Office is also responsible for managing student records, student registrations
and transfers, and student scheduling (Grades Prek -12). Resources are available in the
Guidance Office including information on parenting, post-secondary education, and
career information.

Please feel free to stop in or call the Guidance Office (849-0899 ext. 13072)

Guidance News
We are entering the financial aid season of the college admission process. Parents and students will need to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) which is available on-line January 1, 2014. There is a link to the right with helpful FAFSA information and a link to the official FAFSA site (https://fafsa.ed.gov/). Beware that there are sites with the letters FAFSA in the url address that are not the official site and will require payment. Also, parents and students will want to apply for the VSAC Vermont Grant (see link on right). It is essential to check the financial aid page on the websites of the colleges your student is applying to. Some colleges have other financial aid forms to complete. College website financial pages will also have important deadlines. If you have questions about financial aid, please do not hesitate to contact your student's school counselor.
